Childhood Marriages
Childhood Marriages in which a young girl is forced to become a bride is a practice in many countries in the world including the Middle East to Latin America, South Asia and even Europe. It branches from the gender equality in these regions, and many girls are treated as objects for a family to sell of to a husband, to aid their impoverished backgrounds.
For many of these young girls, being forced into marriage leads to a cycle of poverty, violence, and losing their childhood and overall a sense of themselves.
